5 Blades

3 Blades
3 blade electric fans have high speeds and, with fewer parts, they require less energy to rotate. Because the fan is lighter, it doesn’t need as much energy, so you pay less in in energy bills. 3-blade fans tend to be kinder on the hip pocket. They are also aesthetically pleasing with a dynamic blade balance. However, some 3-blade fans can be noisier than ceiling fans with more blades. They are often better for industrial or workplace needs.

4 Blades
4-blade electric fans are often more stylish looking, they are less noisy and are useful in rooms with an air conditioner, to move the cool air around. However, 4 blade fans may move air slower than a 3 blade fan and can be more expensive than 3 blade fans.

5 Blades
As we discussed above, the more blades a fan has, the quieter it will be. However, more blades can increase drag on the motor. Most electric fans deigned for the home and offices come with 4 to 5 blades for the ideal balance between the amount of air circulated and the amount of ambient noise. The main difference between 4 and 5 blade ceiling fans is generally one of aesthetics and personal taste.
